The retainer is how firms work through their roadmap over time. It's not a support contract — it's ongoing implementation at a sustainable pace, with strategic guidance built in.
Most firms that complete a roadmap and an initial build project have a list of further opportunities they want to pursue. The retainer is the vehicle for working through that list — one improvement or new workflow per month, alongside strategic oversight of everything that's already been built.
If something significant comes up that's bigger than a day's work — a major new integration, a platform migration, a multi-workflow build — we scope that as a separate project and quote it independently. The retainer keeps me embedded in your firm so that when those needs arise, I already understand your setup and can move fast. The projects are additional, not instead of.
Over twelve months, a retainer client gets the equivalent of another full build project delivered incrementally, plus strategic oversight the whole way through. That's something no off-the-shelf AI tool provides — a trusted specialist who already knows your tech stack, your compliance requirements, and your workflows, available to respond quickly when something changes.
Some months are lighter — a strategy call and a few email exchanges. Some months involve a full day of hands-on work building something new. Over the course of the engagement, it averages out. The value is in the continuity and the access, not in counting hours.
Minimum 3-month commitment, typically aligned to a 6–12 month roadmap delivery cycle.
The retainer follows naturally from a roadmap or build project. If you're not there yet, start with an AI Feasibility Assessment.
