About Phil
I didn’t always want to work in marketing. When I was little, I wanted to be a marine conservationist (a mantle my 4-year old son is now picking up!).
I’m originally from the UK. I went to university, studied politics, spent a gap year in Uganda, then returned home to complete a Masters in Conflict, Security & Development.
My life looked set to enter the world of security. But I got a job at a digital agency in Watford. It specialised in financial services, and it’s there that I finally found my feet.
I became fascinated with sales. The thrill of winning my first £15k project was incredible. I then revelled in watching our clients rake in thousands in sales as we helped drive traffic to their websites.
I spent 10 years honing my skills – SEO, PPC, email, you name it. I devoured it. Eventually, I got married and my wife was offered a job in Asia.
We moved in 2018, and haven’t looked back. I decided to strike out on my own, building TealePen & Pixel, where I now serve financial advisor clients across the world – including Australia, Singpore and further afield.
My business’s lifeblood is what I preach – digital marketing and AI-powered automation. They’re what I breathe every day, and they have the power to transform a financial services firm.
